A Sculpt Body began with my personal journey to fitness. Read my story below.
I found fitness in 2011, when I attended a workout class held in honour of my Mom, who passed away from skin cancer a few months prior. She was incredibly fit and an avid class-goer until a few months before she passed. During the class I was out of breath, dizzy, and struggling, but I pushed through. I left feeling equal parts embarrassed and accomplished.
That class was my turning point. After a lifetime of dreading physical movement, my perspective on exercise shifted. I realized that working out could be fun, it boosted my mood, and gave me a sense of confidence in myself that I didn’t previously have. Most of all, it helped me feel connected to my Mom.
Fast forward several years, and I’m now an established finance professional making a pivotal shift to pursue my passion and become a fitness trainer.
Since graduating from McGill University, I’ve pursued a career in finance, achieving my CPA, CA designation and ultimately working in the Corporate and Real Estate Lending groups at a Canadian bank. After years of squeezing in workouts in when I could – before work, over lunch, after work – and looking forward to them daily, I realized I wanted to help others feel good too, so I start teaching fitness on the side! I now work in finance by day and teach group fitness classes on nights and weekends. I call this my #financetofitness life.
That’s why I created A Sculpt Body. I know how difficult it is to fit an in-person workout class or gym session into your busy schedule. I believe in making working out fun, uplifting, and energizing, so you actually want *WANT* to prioritize it in your busy day, and that you don’t have to destroy your body with gruelling high-impact workouts to become a stronger you.
I understand first-hand what it’s like to work a corporate job with long-days, urgent deadlines, and constant stress. I also know what it’s like to balance work demands with other important areas of our lives, like family, relationships, and a fitness routine.
A Sculpt Body is a series of quick, efficient, and effective low-impact online workouts that you can do from home, the office, or anywhere on the go. All workout series are bodyweight only with no equipment needed, so you can do them anywhere, anytime! These are the workouts I DO when I’m running between the office, dinner with my husband, and drinks with friends, and want to get some quick movement in. It’s amazing what 15 minutes per day does for your physical, mental and emotional well-being.
